When Ganga saw Saraswati’s suffering. She was touched by compassion and cursed her to be born on Earth as a river during the difficult Kali Yuga era. Saraswati reacted against Ganga with a similar curse.

The Divine Plan of Vishnu

Lord Vishnu decided to interfere after learning of the curses and rising tensions. He found a brilliant plan to relieve their pain. He sent Lakshmi to live in the Dharmadhvaja palace as Tulasi. She is a non-biological daughter.

And marry Shankhachuda, a manifestation of Vishnu himself. Tulasi was given the important task of purifying the three worlds as a result of this marriage, which brought her closer to Vishnu.

Tulasi became a lovely tree. And the holy river Padmavati. At the same time Ganga was told to take the shape of the river Bhagirathi on Earth. She became a respected river with the capacity to wash sins.

In human form Ganga married King Shantanu was also a Vishnu avatar. While Saraswati married Brahmadeva and migrated to Brahmaloka. Thus only Lakshmi represents compassion and forgiveness. This remained with Vishnu in Vishnuloka.
