Vrat Puja Vidhi: Sawan Somwar Ritual in Steps:

Visit a Lord Shiva temple and present sacred water to the Shiv Linga as part of the Jalabhishek ritual.

Lord Shiva should be presented with flowers such as Belpatra, Doob, Kusha, Lotus, Neelkamal, Jawaphool Kaner, and Rye.

Chant the Mahamrutunjaya mantra 108 times to Lord Shiva.

To appease Lord Shiva, serve milk, curd, ghee, honey, and Gangajal in the rudrabhishek ceremony.

Avoid drinking alcohol at this holy time.

To placate Lord Shiva and seek his blessings, recite the Shiv Chalisa and Shiva Aarti.

Sawan's Importance and Devotee Practises

 According to Hindu legend, Goddess Sati fasted intensively throughout the month of Sawan in order to obtain Lord Shiva's favour and marry him. Devotees practise sixteen Monday fasts beginning in the month of Sawan to seek Lord Shiva's blessings.
